Turn your screen sideways for steering and pedals.
Left thumb: steer. Touch anywhere on the left half, then slide left or right to steer. Hold still to keep a partial turn. Small movements around your starting point stay neutral. Sliding up or down never brakes.
Right thumb: throttle and brake. Touch and hold anywhere in the right gameplay area for full throttle. Sliding up also gives full throttle; any downward movement switches to full braking and safe reverse near a stop. Lift to coast. You can steer and use the pedal together. Mirror controls swaps the wheel and pedal sides. Tap TILT once to enable motion steering and again to return to touch.
Hold Boost while accelerating.
Reset returns you to the road. Gear − and Gear + appear in Manual. Camera and Mute stay above the driving controls.
Menu → Controls offers Driving Assist, gentle steering, size and handedness. In circuit Practice, Menu also has Hot-lap start, Demo Ghost and Retry last corner. You can also pin Look back and Handbrake. In multiplayer, racing continues while Menu is open.
Gears. The gearbox shifts for you by default. Press Z for manual, then keep the revs in the amber part of the dial and change up early as you leave a slow corner.
Steering. Like a real sim, the steering is speed-sensitive: full lock for hairpins and parking, tightening smoothly as you speed up so the car stays stable and precise at the top end. The wheel also self-centres a little faster than it turns in, which helps you catch a slide.
ERS. Hold Shift to deploy stored energy on the straights. It recharges as you drive. In multiplayer, DRS strengthens deployment when close behind a rival; both close for the final 300 m before a gantry.
Push-to-Pass. Hold Shift to use the room's overtake budget. It does not recharge while driving and is not blocked by the gantry restriction.
Surfaces. The outside metre of asphalt is dusty and carries a little less grip, and painted kerbs are slicker than the clean racing surface. Grass and run-off have much less grip, while gravel slows you right down. Every wheel reacts to whatever it is sitting on.
Brakes. You can set the brake balance in Settings, from 45 to 75 percent front. More front is steady but runs wide. Less front turns in better but can lock the rear.
Driving setup. Additional driving controls live under Settings: Driving Assist, steering response and re-centre, brake bias, gearbox, racing line and input trace. Practice Tools, when enabled before a solo run, also offer Autodrive; any manual driving input returns control immediately.
Grip budget. The tyres have one grip budget shared between braking, turning and accelerating — you can't do any two of them fully at once. Brake and turn together and the fronts run wide; get greedy with the throttle mid-corner and the rear steps out. Do one thing at a time: brake, then turn, then feed the power.
Downforce. Grip grows with speed — the faster you go, the harder the air pushes the car into the road, so quick corners stick far better than slow ones. The catch: that grip only exists while you're carrying speed, so lifting or braking hard in the middle of a fast corner makes it vanish and the car lets go.
Racing line. Turn it on in Settings to see the fast way through a corner: wide on the way in, close to the inside at the apex, then wide again on the way out. Turn it off once you know the track.
Gravel. Loose ground rewards smooth steering. Pick your own route between the trees and leave room to slow down before blind crests.
Rear-wheel drive. Feed in the throttle as you unwind the steering. Heavy throttle while turning can slide the rear. The handbrake acts on the rear wheels.
Suspension. The long-travel suspension follows uneven ground. Slow down for crests and compressions; steering and braking need tyre contact.
Gears and brake balance. Automatic gears are on by default. Press Z for manual gears and E or Q to shift. Brake balance and Driving Assist remain in Settings.
Views. C cycles chase, close, hood and cockpit views. Choose the view that lets you read the road and judge the car's position comfortably.
Drive the custom VAZ-2108 Rally along one endless forest trail. Follow the gold course on your map through clearings, low passages and ridges. The arrow is your position and points ahead. Solo driving has no laps or finish line. In multiplayer, everyone drives the same Rally car and races between gantries using the host’s conditions and shared seed. There is no boost.
Tap R to return to the main trail. Ctrl + Alt + R returns to the forest entrance and starts a fresh run. There is no Autodrive.
The track never ends, so a race runs in short stints from one gantry to the next. The moment the leader reaches a gantry, everyone's place is locked in and points are handed out by order. The whole field then lines up again on a staggered grid at that gantry, so the drivers at the back are brought back into the pack and nobody is left behind. Your points carry over, the lights go out, and the next stint begins.
The racing line also tells you when to brake. Red means brake, amber means hold your speed, green means get on the power. violet marks a useful boost run when your active system allows it. If you spin or run off, tap R: Practice places you back immediately; Multiplayer holds the car for one second, with a half-second penalty after five resets. The count clears at every gantry. In Practice, Ctrl + Alt + R restarts just beyond the next gantry.
Complete every checkpoint in order before crossing the start/finish line. Valid laps count toward the race and personal best; resets, distant Practice placement and skipped checkpoints never grant progress. Live sectors use purple for the session best, green for your personal best and yellow for another valid sector.
Local records, ghosts and personal-best lines stay with their physics category: Standard or Formula tune, boost system and budget, and Dry, Wet or Dynamic conditions. Day and night share the same Dry category.
The host can choose a finite race or Infinite laps. A finite race ends after its selected lap count. Infinite keeps racing until the host chooses End Session, then classifies everyone from accepted laps and distance. Late joins, reconnects and rematches retain the same format.
Push-to-Pass refills at each completed lap. Practice offers the rolling Hot Lap and last-corner retry controls shown above. Tap R for normal recovery; Practice is immediate, while Multiplayer uses the room recovery hold and penalty rules.
Choose rendering quality and compatibility. Changes marked next session apply when you next drive.
Balance the engine and surrounding sounds. Volume changes apply immediately.
Adjust car response, transmission and driving aids.
Set up your controller, keyboard bindings or touch controls.
Check buttons, fine steering and vibration.
Touch steering
Hold the phone sideways and raised toward you. Choosing Tilt enables motion and centers steering in this position.
Tap Recenter tilt when you change your hold. After switching apps or rotating the screen, tap Retry & center tilt. Touch adds a correction; keyboard steering takes over.
Multiplayer racing continues while Menu is open. Practice pauses.
